A Dream's End: Pre-Alpha Release 6

Welcome Back!

It's been over half a year since I last provided a real update on the status of this game.

While I have done a ton on the project since, it's still not where I want it to be, in all honesty. I've had numerous cases of creative block as of recent. I know what I want to see in the end product, but I'm not fully sure how to formulate the steps to get there.

If you're new here, A Dream's End is a Yume Nikki inspired walking simulator themed around dreams. It's non-linear, so you can experience the game at your own pace without being limited by a massive dialogue-driven story. The game is designed with visual design at the forefront and aims to create certain feelings in the player during gameplay.

In its current state, A Dream's End is no more than an asset dump project to update while I create original assets and work on the full structured game. It's going to take a while, but having come from almost zero Godot experience to now, I am extremely happy with what I have been able to accomplish so far.

What's New:

There is WAY too much that's been changed to summarize, but I'll do my best:

Updated the forest area with a huge visual overhaul, a solid background, more trees, a cute little bridge, fog, falling leaves, and more! I'm so happy with it now compared to the previous itch.io release and I hope you are as well.

- Added new menu options and made optimization and control fixes

- Added partial Android support and full MacOS and Linux support.

- Added a new debug area which serves as the current first area, allows individual access to every area currently in the game.

- Added new apartment interior building (you can phase through it in the debug area)

- Added new apartment exterior (its a giant building in the debug area that you can't miss, use one of the doors to access it)

- Updated to Godot 4.3 and swapped physics engine out for the more accurate Jolt physics engine.

- Added an interaction system for doors to enable quick and easy teleportation across space or even multiple scenes.

- Probably so much more.

If you want to check out the new changes and support the game's development, feel free to download the latest version and try the game out for yourself. You can also optionally donate a small amount to me as a solo indie developer if you feel at all inclined to do so!
